How can I use fiber arts to re-create forms found in nature? I found my inspiration in the nature of Colorado. I challenged myself and figure out how I could experiment with the medium to re-create the organic subjects as hyper realistically as possible. In general, I’ve noticed that people won’t stop to look at the smaller aspects of nature. People are more focused on the big picture. Embroidery is also an often overlooked medium commonly labeled “craft”. Its potential for the fine art is not often utilized. I used my portfolio to bring recognition to the beauty of the often overlooked.
